SecurityXchange Welcomes New Director, Michael Pilato
EAGAN, Minnesota—September 12, 2017—Strategic senior management relationship broker and market research firm VerticalXchange announced today that Michael Pilato has joined the company as SecurityXchange event director, effective August 12, 2017.
An industry veteran who has held executive positions at Viscount Systems, Provia Laboratories, ASSA ABLOY, Honeywell and Sensormatic/Software House (now Tyco), Pilato has launched and led security-specific business enterprises both within corporations and venture-backed start-ups.
“The security industry faces a number of growing challenges, including integrating physical security with cybersecurity and attracting and developing a talented workforce,” says Greg Geisler, CEO and founder of VerticalXchange. “SecurityXchange provides the industry’s leaders a way to meet those challenges head-on by giving them the opportunity to build strategic partnerships both with peers and technology providers. Michael’s exceptional depth of experience in this industry makes him the ideal person to lead the way.”
SecurityXchange brings together integrators, end users, and solution providers for one-on-one senior-level strategic conversations, a model that Pilato is uniquely qualified to understand and execute, as he has attended SecurityXchange in the past as an executive participant.
“As the leader of several startups, in some cases creating entirely new product categories, I considered SecurityXchange a crucial part of my go-to-market strategy,” says Pilato. “SecurityXchange, unlike any other industry event, gave me the opportunity to create strategic partnerships that increased profitability, expanded distribution and drove growth. The physical security industry is at an inflection point, facing more volatility and intense demand for innovation than ever before. The leaders who attend SecurityXchange will be prepared to turn those challenges into opportunities, and I’m thrilled to be part of that process.”
VerticalXchange is also launching CyberTechnologyXchange in 2018, co-located with SecurityXchange, as well as creating a Critical Infrastructure KnowledgeXchange peer group, to be held as part of the 2018 SecurityXchange.
